Vanessa A. Johnson-McCoy, President and CEO of VAJM Consulting LLC, is truly an experienced professional. No matter the task, she strives to exceed client expectations, tackling each assignment with optimism, resourcefulness and integrity.

After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, (Concentration: Organizational Behavior), Vanessa began her career in Human Resources (HR), which had been her plan since high school. In the late 90s, she transitioned to HRIS (HR Information Systems) and held HR & HRIS positions at: United Airlines, Discover Financial Services, Kaiser Permanente and Hyatt Hotels. She worked as an HR Generalist and has specialized in many areas of HR including: compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, performance management and more. In addition to various roles in HR, as an HRIS Project Manager for many years, Vanessa served as a liaison, working closely with IT, HR and Payroll to successfully implement several significant projects throughout her career. Some of the projects saved her employer thousands (maybe even millions) of dollars and increased operational efficiencies, customer service and/or employee morale, etc.

From the 90s, when she bought her first home in California and again when she bought her second home in Atlanta, Vanessa was fascinated by both of her outstanding real estate agents, Rodney Gallman and Erica Brown. At that time, she was enjoying and satisfied with her career in HR/HRIS, but in the back of her mind she admired their work and their schedule flexibility and thought maybe she would one day become a real estate agent herself. So when there was an opportunity to explore other career options, she decided to take an accelerated pre-licensing class and soon after passed the state exam to receive a broker license to begin pursuing a new career in real estate. She thoroughly enjoys helping her clients reach their real estate goals.

Whether it’s managing a project, teaching a class, planning an event or helping clients buy or sell property, Vanessa is known for her positive and tenacious attitude, honesty and integrity, excellent communication skills and so many other wonderful characteristics and qualities.
